Printex Limited Ghana is a privately owned textile company with over 500 employees in Accra, Greater Accra,Ghana. The company was established in 1958 as Millet Textile Corporation (MTC), producing mainly terry towels.
In 1980 the company began operating as Spintex Limited, on a 25+ acre plot on the Spintex Road, after a massive expansion program. Spinning, weaving, and finishing departments were added to increase production capacity for new textile products including uniforms, shirting materials, dress fabrics, and furnishings.
By 1997 when it assumed its current name, the company had entered into the African textiles market producing woven or printed cotton or polyester viscose blends. Printex ventured in Ghana’s African print market with a trademark Black and White print of intricate designs.
Today the company produces all colors screen prints and dyed African print fabric inspired by a team of textile creatives.
Printex African prints are a combination of art, cultural inspirations, and interpretations of Africa’s landscape, and wildlife. We use bold shapes and patterns combined with seasonal colors to dress our customers for every occasion. From the more simple patterns for daily wear, to more intricate designs for fashion runways and glamour pages. There is a Printex print for everyone.
Our prints first start as concepts from textile designers which are later turned into decorative patterns applied to cotton fabric by synchronized rotary screen methods and tubular screens. Print paste is distributed inside the tubular screen and applied on to the fabric which is pressed between the screen and the printing blanket. The product then undergoes a variety of finishes that end in bales of colourful african designs.
In the 50 years since Printex Limited was established as a textile company in Accra, Ghana, it has transitioned from a small family-owned mill to one of the regions most respected African print producers. Today we have over 500 local employees.
We believe in building partnerships with local textile designers and leading fashion creatives. Our textile collections are made for the upwardly mobile, and aspirational African woman and man looking to add flair to their personal style.
