SODIAM - Trading
SODIAM is the subsidiary of ENDIAMA EP, established in 1991 to organize and supervise the trading of Angolan Diamonds, by replacing the previous model which was based on a large number of operators, mostly illegal middle-man.
This new model pretends to organize and oversee the Trading and Marketing process of rough Diamonds with a special focus on international markets::
Sodiam’s position in Angola has also been strengthened with the direct involvement in the consortium that established the Angolan Polishing Diamonds company (APD), responsible for the creation of the first diamond polishing factory in Angola in November of 2005.
The Angolan polishing diamonds company comes of a strategic decision by the government to withdraw from the Angolan diamonds all the economic results that this natural product offers, thus controlling the whole value chain of this business.
The factory is located in Luanda Sul (Talatona) with an estimated investment of about 10 million U.S. dollars and it is equipped with top technology for polishing; it has the capacity to house approximately 600 employees, as well as the capacity of processing estimated value of 20 million American dolars per month, thus making a total of about 240 million dollars per year.
