The SIE is based on a standard transmission protocol (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) used by all carriers around the globe. It allows inter-connection to terrestrial networks, system protection and grooming of capacity to optimise system usage.
Submarine Line Terminal Equipment (SLTE)
SLTE is the signal processing equipment and optical multiplexing equipment that allows transmission over the submarine system.
The PFE is used to inject electrical power into the submarine cable to feed and to monitor active submerged equipment.
Network Management Equipment (NME)
CCL will be monitored, controlled and configured from the Network Operating Centre (NOC) via a network management system (NMS) that might interface with all ACE components.
